The beauty part about specifying “what I want” is that it provides something everyone can talk about. If you get a bogus non-sharp recruiter, at the very least one would be able to say: “Um, did you happen to notice what I really want . . . ?”

Typically they will look at what their clients want (the companies they recruit for), and if you have the respective skills, they will ask you if you are interested in the job.

The only thing that might help is removing things you don’t want from your resume.

I’d love to see a job engine that makes recruiters care for what I want…
